St Ben’s Meal Program

"If we are not the Church of the poor, we are not the Church of Jesus Christ."
~Capuchin Franciscan Brother Booker Ashe

Over 85 religious groups and organizations bring in hot, home-made dishes for guests, six nights a week. Some weeks St Ben’s serves over 2,000 guests and we all share a meal and companionship. St. Joseph Parish prepares and donates the meal on the first Friday of the month. The meal is delivered and served at St. Ben’s in Milwaukee.

  • Volunteers gather once each month to assemble box lunches for St. Ben’s.
  • We have volunteers who do the assembly, shop for the groceries we use, make baked goods to include in the lunches and transport to St. Ben’s.  The box lunches include a sandwich, fruit and cookies or bars.
  • We provide 60 lunches the first Friday of each month.
